Coffee with Intention will be my very first event this Wednesday. When I originally envisioned my studio space and started looking, I didn’t have a room with tables and chairs in mind. I didn’t have any ideas for events in mind either. When I initially looked at the space I am in now, I only saw the corner room and rejected it because it didn’t feel right. Later, the building manager asked me if the space would work if they opened it up to the vacant room next to it. I went back a few days later to look at the vacant room and couldn’t stop thinking about it. So, I trusted my gut and took the leap. Once they opened up the two rooms to each other, I still didn’t know what to do with the second room until I started painting it and working on furnishing it. I initially thought I would put a sofa in there but eventually envisioned tables and chairs and the idea of holding events and workshops was born. On this journey that I’m walking on towards my purpose, the most important thing that I’ve learned to do is to embrace the unknown. I am discovering that sometimes, you have to take the leap first before you understand why, holding firmly to the belief that as long as you trust your gut, your purpose will be revealed to you later. Steve Jobs said, “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.”
I call my studio “A Place Where Woman Can Feel Like they Matter” because this is the way EVERY woman should feel when she arrives.
I am so very excited about my first event this week. I take the job of facilitating events very seriously as I think of ways to create the right environment so that every woman who walks in the door feels welcome, comfortable and wanted. I call my studio “A Place Where Woman Can Feel Like they Matter” because this is the way I want EVERY woman to feel when she arrives. I want her to feel safe. I want her to feel like she can take off a little bit of her armor and be herself. To show herself. To allow herself to be seen. We are so very afraid of being seen but that’s what we all really desire because being seen give us the connection we all so desperately want. That I believe all of us really hunger for. So please, show up for yourself and join me and and connect to other women who want the same as you do. Tomorrow morning is the last day you will be able to register. I will be ordering delicious pastries from Preserve and Gather to support another local, woman owned business.
