Did you know that your vagus nerve, which controls your parasympathetic nervous system, runs from your throat and voice box to your gut and to your brain? If you struggle with using your voice, your vagus nerve becomes overstimulated which causes anxiety, irregular heartbeat and triggers fight or flight mode. No wonder we keep our true thoughts to ourselves or always feel like we say the wrong thing, replaying what we said and judging ourselves.
Womanspeak is so much more than a public speaking program. It is a program designed to help heal your voice which helps to heal your soul.
So how do you deal with your fear of speaking and get to a place of using your most authentic voice? In WomanSpeak, we do embodiment exercises and practice speaking at every meeting to help us rewire our nervous system. The key to doing this is not to change who we are but to learn to change our relationship to our body’s fight or flight response when speaking. We learn self-soothing techniques and eventually learn to speak from our bodies which, in turn, helps to heal our nervous system.

Learning to speak in your most authentic voice is not just important to your well being but affects so many different aspects of your life.
