Whether as the photographer, the subject, or for anything else in life, we tend to focus too much on the outcome. After all, we do these things specifically to get to an outcome… in this case to get pictures. But the problem with focusing too much on the outcome is that we are not tending to our souls in the present.

“How do you feel?” is a question you will hear throughout your time with me whether you are doing a Transformative Experience, Branding or Professional Portraits (aka heashots) because how you feel is what matters most. It’s a way for us to check in with each other and help you feel safe and at home in your body so that your most authentic self shows.

"How do you feel?" is a question you will hear throughout your time with me because how you feel is what matters most.

In focusing on the present and the experience, we both trust in the outcome – i.e. beautiful photos and use our feelings to know when we’re done and got what we needed. The last thing on your mind when you’re being photographed should be worrying about how you look like and how the pictures will turn out because that will make you feel uncomfortable and you’ll remember that when you look at the photos.

When you feel safe in your body, it will show up in the photos so trust in the outcome.
