“True belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are. It requires you to be who you are.” – Brene Brown

It’s not about saying just the right things or being a good speaker or what other people will think. It’s about daring to believe that you are worthy of being seen and heard and that your voice matters.

Join us for an inspiring evening of hearing women speak their truth on the topic of BELONGING. You are invited to come exclusively as a listener or a speaker. If you choose to speak, you will place your name in a bowl and names will be drawn randomly.*

Story Guidelines:

  • Your story must represent your truth.
  • Your story should be between 5-7 minutes but may be shorter.
  • No notes are allowed. Trust yourself and speak your truth. Trust that what you have to say at that moment will emerge.
  • No self-promotion of your business, social media, website, etc. while on stage.

Tips:

  • Outline your story and practice but don’t prewrite the whole thing and definitely don’t memorize. When you memorize, you speak from your head and not your gut, which is where your truth lies.
  • Try a physical activity before practicing like dancing, meditation, breathing, or walking. Getting into your body will help give you more presence and impact when you speak.
  • Don’t try to be perfect! No matter how your speaking goes, you will be applauded for being brave and daring to be seen and heard. It’s about the journey, not the destination.

This event is open to women only and will be a safe environment in which to speak, feel truly heard and applauded (literally) for speaking your truth. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP).

This event is sponsored by Studio Flora which specializes in the creation of locally handcrafted products and gifts featuring organic and wildcrafted botanicals. Creations encompass skincare, body care, meditation & yoga, teas, culinary specialties, immunity & stress support, and more. They are a women-owned business dedicated to cultivating the relationship between women and nature and to creating a magical gathering space for workshops and events. Attendees will also have an opportunity to shop after the event and 20% of sales will be donated to NWIRP.
