Happy Summer!

We are quickly approaching the end of summer here in Seattle with a return to a more normal schedule when my kids return to school in September. We’ve been on three camping trips and about to head to two more. It’s the one activity our entire family enjoys so we want to take advantage of it before our lives get too full again and the weather gets cold and wet. I hope you’ve had or are having some adventures this summer too.

The studio has been quiet this summer with the exception of the RAW portrait project which I’m wrapping up this month and hoping to get all of them online by the end of September. I had the privilege of photographing 16 women who were willing to share a bit of their souls and show their real, raw selves. It’s been so soul filling to put work out into the world that redefines what makes women beautiful and shares the belief that we should accept and love ourselves just as we are, shadows and all. If you haven’t been following the project on Instagram or Facebook, visit the project website here. I will be collaborating with someone to plan an event related to the project in the fall so stay tuned.

I have a few things coming up in September that may be of interest to you. Our WomanSpeak circle is shifting to weekdays. Instead of evenings, we will begin meeting the first and third Wednesday mornings of the month from 10am-12pm starting in September. We are currently growing our circle so for those of you interested, our first Intro Event is on September 11th @9am. The Intro portion meets an hour before so you can learn about the program’s culture and then you get to participate in the actual circle meeting afterwards @10am so you can try it out. WomanSpeak is so much more than a public speaking program. It’s a journey into yourself so you can learn to trust your voice and speak your truth.
