I can’t believe April is here already which means more sunshine, warmer days and beautiful cherry blossoms! One of the most exciting things that happened last month was the Finding Light in the Dark workshop series, my first collaboration with Life Coach Angie Louthan. It was a meaningful and powerful experience for the participants and we have already scheduled the next one for Saturday, June 1st  @10-2 & June 8th @10-12.  Please save the date if you’re interested in attending. We will make the official announcement next month.

I also had the privilege of having Angie as a guest on the second episode of the Coffee with Intention Podcast on yelling at our kids, getting triggered and taking responsibility. Whether or not you’re a parent, Angie offers lots of insight on how to respond when you’re triggered so it’s definitely worth a listen. You can now subscribe to the podcast on  iTunesAndroid or Google Play. If you use a different platform to listen, please reply to this email and let me know!

Another very exciting thing that’s happened was being selected as a speaker for The Truthteller Tour. If you’ve been reading this newsletter for a while, I spoke about how I had a vision of being a speaker last year which I pictured as Tedx (which I’m still interested in doing). But when I learned about The Truthteller Tour, I knew in my gut that I was supposed to be part of it so I applied and was selected to read my piece, along with half a dozen other women, on grappling with my sadness. This tour, which is about giving voice to women, is so aligned with everything I believe about women being seen and heard and I think it will be a powerful experience for attendees and speakers alike. If you’re in the Seattle area, I would love to see you there. Details are listed below.

The following are events scheduled at the studio for April. If any resonate with you, please come. I would love to connect.

YOU ARE INVITED

Transforming Women in Business Meetup – What’s Holding You Back?
The 2nd meeting of the Meetup group Transforming Women in Business for businesswomen interested in authentic connection, not networking, will be held this Friday. We will be diving into what’s holding us back and the role that we play so we can inspire each other to move forward.  You can RSVP to the event by registering in the Meetup group.
Friday, April 5 @10:30-12:30. Register on Meetup.

WomanSpeak Intro Night
Rehearsing what you’re going to say, staying silent when you want to talk, desiring more clarity when you speak, fear of public speaking… Learning to speak isn’t just about the art of speaking, it’s ultimately about learning to trust ourselves and getting into our bodies so that our authentic voices emerge. WomanSpeak is so much more than a speaking program. It’s a journey into who you are and the message you have to share with the world. It’s all about personal growth and empowerment. We have a couple of openings in the group. Intro Night is a great way to experience a full meeting for yourself to see if it’s right for you. You can read more about it on my website or Facebook event listing
Wednesday, April 17 @6:00-9:00pm. Register here.

Transformative Experiences for Women – Let’s Say Hi Meetup
Another Meetup that I started not too long ago is the Transformative Experiences for Women group. Most of the events scheduled for this group are the same as those for the studio except for occasional events. This Meetup will be a casual one to get together at The Dane coffee shop in Ballard and get to know each other. I’ll lead with questions and you show up.
Friday, April 19 @10:00-11:30am. Register at Meetup.

Intuitive Art Class by Angie Louthan
I will be hosting Angie at my studio to teach one of her Intuitive Art classes. This class is designed to help you explore your subconscious thoughts through the playful experience of art and using it to practice mindfulness and trusting your gut. While details of the class are forthcoming, please save the date if you’re interested in joining me in the class as I will be participating as an attendant!
Saturday, April 27 @10:00-12:00am. Registration details coming soon.

Transformative Experiences for Women – Book Club
Another event for this Meetup group is the book club which will be lead by member Rachel Gerk. We will be reading Self-Compassion by Kristin Neff and have informal discussion about the book.
Saturday, April 27 @4:00-5:30pm. Register at Meetup.

The Truthteller Tour – Speaker
As mentioned above, I am honored and thrilled to be one of the speakers on this tour and will read one of my writings on sadness. My piece will also be published on the Women for One site.
