Every time a new month begins, I feel like it snuck up on me. Time is moving so fast and I feel like summer is fast approaching, which is always a challenging time with the kids out of school but also exciting as we get out into nature on our annual camping trips. It’s what our entire family loves doing together most. We plan to camp in Leavenworth, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Diablo Lake and back to Mount Rainer. We try to camp in different locations every year because there are so many to explore in the beautiful PNW but we are returning to Ohanapecosh, one of our favorite spots, where we first started camping as a family 5 years ago. It will be nice to get back there. What are you planning to do this summer?

The event I am most looking forward to in May is the “I Am: The Power of Intention” workshop in collaboration with Carol from Asha Blooms on Monday, May 13th We’d been talking about doing something together for ages since our business missions align so beautifully. It wasn’t until I had her as a guest on my podcast that the idea for the workshop emerged organically. We would love to have you join us to select an “I Am” intentional necklace and set an intention.

We had the inaugural meeting for the book club for the Meetup Group, Transformative Experiences for Women. It was a wonderful, real discussion and we look forward to reading the “Year of Yes” together. I hope you will find something in the offerings for the next month or so that enrich you and your life.

I will also be offering a workshop/yoga event in collaboration with Hannah Talbot of Tribe Life Events on June 13th with more information to follow so save the date!

Transforming Women in Business – Bookkeeping Accountability Monthly (May)
For my fellow businesswomen, I don’t know about you but I am not a fan of bookkeeping and I am not quite in a place to outsource it yet. So what I end up doing is waiting until I have to file my quarterly taxes and then have to spend hours reconciling my receipts. I’ve tried setting aside an hour in my schedule to do my books but I don’t stick to it. So what’s the next best thing? Forcing myself to be accountable with other businesswomen who would like the same thing! If this sounds like something that might be helpful for you, bring your laptop to my studio and we’ll just work quietly on our books (WiFi provided). No need to socialize unless you would like to stick around for a half hour after to just chat and get to know each other casually.
Thursday, May 30, 2019 @10:00-11:00am. RSVP on Meetup.

Finding Light in the Dark Workshop
The messaging we get when we’re learning to love and embrace ourselves is to focus on joy and all the things that make us feel “good.” And that’s so important but what about the things that aren’t easy to feel or look at? To truly learn to love ourselves, we have to embrace every side of us including our shadows…the parts of us that are flawed, the parts of us that make us feel “bad” like sadness and anger. We have to be willing to look at our shadows. We are complex beings with a multitude of different emotions, sometimes what feels like conflicting ones at the same time, but it’s what makes us human. Our flaws and shadows are what connect us and until we fully embrace them, we will struggle with harsh self-judgment and they will keep revisiting us. So let’s take the time to connect to ourselves and our shadows and learn to love all of us so we can show up in the world unapologetically as our most authentic selves.

In this small group workshop we’ll do teachings, guided meditations, and journal practices to understand and work with our shadows in order to see their gifts, extend them compassion, and integrate them into our being. We’ll end the afternoon by capturing a meaningful portrait of one of your shadow aspects so you can have a visual reminder to help you learn to embrace this part of yourself. The 2-Day workshop is being taught by Life Coach and Kind Fest founder Angie Louthan and portraits taken by me. We offered this workshop back in March and are excited to offer it once more at the beginning of June.
Day 1: Saturday, June 1 @10:00-2:00pm; Day 2: Saturday, June 8 @10:00-12:00pm. Register on Eventbrite or Facebook.
